Is it possible to remove both drives of a fusion drive & replace them with a single ssd in a 2012 Mini?

I have only indirect information from this link, but it indicates that the SSD is not soldered onto the 2012 mini. However, if you remove the drives, make sure you read up on how to disable the fusion portion first. This is probably necessary if you are cloning the old drive to the new one.

Yes. I have the 2012. Just backup to a single and use it as a replacement for one of the drives. You ca then reformat the remaining drive.
