I haven't noticed much of a difference with Safari. Spotlight on the other hand seems much faster and responsive. Do you know those little i disks in Spotlight that give you more info for the file? Before the update I would click them and it would take 5-10 seconds before the file info would show. It displays the file info instantly now. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

My Safari does not seem to be any faster either, but I modified my Safari months ago so that it would not wait to start loading pages. I wonder if 10.4.4 addressed this issue (Safari by default would wait to start loading pages until x amount was buffered).
I have had one issue with woreless networking which required a reboot. I will check Spotlight tonight... _________________ Vote for me, and your wildest dreams will come true.. - Pedro Sanchez, "Napoleon Dynamite" |

My mini did not wake up from sleep this morning. I installed 10.4.4 the night it was released. However, I did notice that the Aspyr Game Agent refreshed itself in the middle of the night. Maybe thta had something to do with it.

Downloading huge files is awful for me. I can't get anything but dialup and run along at 30-32 kpbs (max.).
Can I get a disk? |

Do you have a friend or family member with broadband? See if they will burn the 10.4.4 combo to disk for you. You could also get them to put it on a thumb drive if you have one.

Thanks for the suggestion of burning a copy of the update to a CD.
I've asked someone to do that, but he'll be using a PC. I don't think it'll make any difference to the download.
Will it? |

Sad to notice Apple still haven't fixed the old Help viewer bug.
I had to go to the Apple site and dig out a very old thread where a third party gives you a fix routine.
It just works?
Until the Help viewer bug surfaces...
