Hey Ladies and Gents. I am sort of new here. And by sort of I mean I am. Anyways. I tried searching but I am bad at the internets.

I am planing on upgrading the hard drive and ram from my mid 2012 macbook pro and I am curious as to wether or not all the stuff I am taking out will work in my mid 2009 mac mini. Im sort of a computer dummy If it will not work in there I am curious as to what will. I am sort of lost in all these drive size specs. Like how large it physically has to be to fit and what sort of connections it would need. Ive been browsing for a while and it just sort of leads to more confusion on my part.

Thanks to all in advance for any replies you give me. And I apologize if I violated some rules. I could not find them. Again Its more because I am bad at the internets.

I don't know what rules you may have broken, but -

I think the HDD will work, but you will have to reinstall OS X, as OS X install in a machine specific manner. This also means that you will either need a OS X disc for your mini or a retail OS X disc, and not the disc from the MacBook Pro.

I'm not great with the internets, but I'm lazy, so I think that the memory won't work, but perhaps someone with more information will iron that one out.
