Apple today released the Java for OS X 2013-002 Update for Mountain Lion and Lion users via their Mac App Store and website for direct download. According to the company, this update delivers improved security, reliability, and compatibility by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_43. It also reportedly fixes a newly discovered zero-day vulnerability. The Java for OS X 2013-002 Update weighs in at 63.84 MB and requires OS X 10.7 or later.

I'm so tired of hearing about the exploits in Java and Flash. I guess it's to be expected though with Adobe and Oracle seemingly more interested in promoting the "Ask Jeeves Toolbar" than truly buttoning down the hatches and making their products better.
