NewerTech today announced that it has added a faster 2.0TB model to their Guardian MAXimus mini line of external hard drives. The new model comes packed with dual 1TB 7200 RPM drives (which can be configured in either hardware RAID-1 for redundancy or RAID-0 for improved performance) and connects to your Mac or PC via a "Quad Interface" of USB, FireWire 400/800, and eSATA. It also comes with all of the connecting cables and pre-installed utility software. The new 2.0TB Guardian MAXimus mini is priced at $297.99.

| Still wishing that OWC and Newertech would start making some enclosures with Thunderbolt. |

Nice looking enclosure. As ed mentioned,
the controller is a bit out of date. If no Thunderbolt it should at least have USB 3.
If you purchased a new iMac, you'd have to purchase a Thunderbolt to FW800 adapter or a LaCie Thunderbolt to eSATA hub just to get decent speed out of this enclosure. |

| Did you also notice something this is really worthless because it supports 2 1 tb hard drives at nearly 218.00 for a 2 tb model with a single drive you would still have to fork out 128.00 for another 2 tb just to raid it not impressed also no barebones cases why??? kinda fishy to me |
