I wouldn't waste my money on this. A simple headphone jack, analog, will not pass AC3 5.1, the receiver may interpret it as Dolby Pro Logic (analog), but that's it. If you read the discription of the device it gives hints:
*"7.1 Channel sound without the investment in a whole set of speakers!"
*"Comes bundled with Xear 3D Sound simulation software, and turns your stereo speaker or earphones into a 7.1 channel environment"
Anybody that says this "a 5.1 surround sound card" is sadly misinformed.
Macmanmacman, you really shouldn't pass this kind of horrible info along to users, particularly as the mini ITSELF will pass TRUE digital 5.1, both in Dolby and in DTS. All that's necessary is an optical cable and just about any low/mid range receiver built in the last 10 years. _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint
