|
|
| I have a silly, but suddenly very important question to ask: has anyone ever sent a thumb drive in the U.S. Mail to someone several states away? I shot a large number of photos using my SLR on a recent historic trip for members of my home town, and I saved the photos as both JPEGs and DNGs (a high-quality uncompressed file format). The DNGs are way too large to e-mail. I was thinking about sending them via snail mail. This begs questions: (1: how do I package a thumb drive for the mail so it arrives unharmed, and (2: what kind of packages will work for that specific kind of tiny shape? |

Wrap in bubble wrap or get a pre-bubbled wrapped (padded) envelope (as small as possible) and mail it. Should be fine. Make sure you have the files on your HD until all checks out with the recipient.

Why don't you try compressing them
into a DMG (Disk Image) and eMailing
the DMG?
I did that for a video I had shot that was
to big to eMail and it worked great.
You have nothing to lose but a little time
and a lot to gain.
Their are several free App's that create
DMG's on a Mac just Google it give it a try. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

And that's somehow better?
I stuck one in a little bubble mailer and sent it to my brother in Ethiopia. No problems whatsoever. _________________ 2.53 C2D (NVIDIA graphics)
