I own a 2009 late mac mini. Internet is super fast. Same connection in the house but I opened up my mothers 2,1 and noticed there is one antenna connected not two. The internet on this machine is slower for sure. This is running 4GB even though it only reads 3.
Any suggestions?

The earlier 2007 Mac mini only had two antennas. One for AirPort and another for Bluetooth. The 2009 Mac mini had three antennas. Two for AirPort and one for Bluetooth. That's why it has better reception and performance. Other than checking the antenna connections on the Airport card or relocating your Mac mini, there is little you can do. It also sounds like you might have a bad memory module, which can also hinder performance. I would suggest testing it out with MemTest or AHT.

I think the 2.1 mini only "sees" 3.1 out of 4 Gig's of RAM.
If your mon has G wifi then she only needs one antenna.
If she upgrades the wifi card to N then she would benefit
from two antennas.
