Hi all,
So i have finally purchased my new mac mini server and i plan to upgrade the HDD to an SSD and up the RAM before i first turn the Mac mini on.
Since i am new to MACs and dont have any setting etc to migrate and i dont have anything like an empty external HDD enclosure etc i am wandering if my best option to get OSX onto the new SSD would be to use the interent recovery option. Is this a feasible solution for my needs or is there a better / easier way?

In order to have your SSD working you will need to format it.
Before installing a SSD in my Mac book pro I plugged it in a usb dock cloned it with super duper then I swapped the drives. When I will do it my Mac Mini I will proceed this way.

You could also keep your HDD in place (for Time Machine backup for instance) and add the SDD with the proper iFixit.com Mac Mini Dual Hard Drive Kit.

Why do you need a SSD ? Try keeping what you have and see first if you need it.
