Download the free trial of Smart Utility for OS X. It shows the S.M.A.R.T status of your drive, which includes power on hours. It also gives a decent picture of you drive's health.

When in doubt check with MacUpdate.

There are other apps that should be able to do this.
You can get the info from the Apple Disk Utility. If you run it, click on the HD then on the info icon. If you look you should find:
Power-On Hours : 000000006065
Though your numbers will vary. _________________ iMac 24" 2.4 GHz 4GB | Logitech S530 | Z-2300 speakers | NewerTech Guardian MAXimus RAID

If those are your numbers, you're way higher than me.
I forgot to mention another app called SMART Reporter. It's another handy GUI for gathering your SMART status.

I'm a fan of MacUpdate as well. I don't browse the site as often anymore with the Mac App Store, but it's a good way to find out more about specific applications. I always recommend Little Snitch for the paranoid types as well.

| I use Techtool Pro for diagnostics and repair. I received it in a bundle from Macupdate and it's been an awesome tool to have around. I would definitely keep on the lookout for it to be offered this way. It's like a $100 application. |

I would say pretty inexpensive for an application if it is found to be useful. I use Photoshop which is quite a bit more expensive cost-wise, but for what it helps me with its incredibly inexpensive. _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint

If somebody wants to check I am sure there is a good reason to know it. Tech Tool unless it has changed dramatically used to do more than this, so the $100 price tag may not be that steep given it's other potential uses.
I would guess it all comes down to hours in service and monitoring failures. _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint
