2 Scenarios

#1 - Can I use my iMac 2009 27" (with Mini Display Port) as a Monitor plugged into a 2014 or 2012 Mac Mini Thunderbolt Port?

#2 -Old 2007 Mac Mini with DVI Port hooked up to 2009 iMac Mini Display Port.

No however i can recommend a better solution if you want to use both machines.

Go and purchase a 32 inch tv with two hdmi ports this will allow you to connect both the iMac and the mini to one display source using a hdmi to dvi cable

So both of those scenarios won't work? Are you sure? Even with the new Mac Mini? I'm reading all over the place about Target Disc Mode allowing this to work. Sure, I know I can buy a new monitor. I was just trying to utilize my iMac 27"'s Monitor.

I think the Logic Board is going on my iMac. Both Airport & Ethernet will not connect & when I try, my iMac freezes up & restarts with a Kernal Panic. I would love to Test my iMac with a WiFi USB Adapter, but none of them at the moment work with Yosemite. So there lies my problem.

if your iMac is going out i wouldn't bother then i would just use the mini if its freezing it sounds like the iMac is dying.

So here's the thing. I just added a WiFi USB Adapter & No Freeze Ups thus far.
It appears the Networking was causing the crashing. I'm sure it's hardware since I installed a clean copy of the OS. I hear there is in fact a Networking Card that connects to the Logic Board. If that is a fact, perhaps it's not the Logic Board & just the Networking Card.

Although it's working perfectly now, I still think my days are numbered. Has a problem shutting down. It's definitely Logic Board. MacManMacMan, are you the only one on here these days? That's what it seems. Well thank you for your input. I appreciate it.
