Hi,
So far my icons are displayed on my desktop in the order I choose, and every time I boot, the icons'places have not changed.
But since a few days, starting up displays all the icons stacked on the right half of the desktop in what looks like the snap-to-grid arrangement. Trouble is: I chose "none" in the View menu > Show View Options > Arrange by.
Can you think of any reason why my icons return to the snap-to-grid position on the right half of my screen?
Intel Core 2 Duo Mini, Snow Leopard. |

I haven't had any reply to my post, I am sorry to say! Now the same thing has happened again and I still don't know why.
Isn't there anyone out there able to give me a clue?
Please help! I have to reposition by hand each icon every day...
If I am in the wrong forum, kindly tell me where to ask. |

I don't know. Maybe an OS X specific forum like OS X Hints might have an answer.
