I have been using macs for years but I have no experience of iPads. I am wondering if iPads are structured like macs with menus, folders, etc…
Can they use Thunderbird for email? and Firefox for browsing?
And can CCC make a bootable clone of iPad's contents ?
Thank you in advance for an answer to these questions. |

The iPad is nothing like a mac really, its a unique interface but one that I like but I do find limiting. You do not access the file system itself on an iDevice.
You will not find Thunderbird or Firefox on the iPad and it's really not needed.
You can back up your iPad either to a computer or to the cloud. I use Dropbox for my data that I use either for my iDevice or my macs.
I'd suggest going to an Apple Store or Best Buy and playing with it for a while. I think an Apple Store would be better as you can get some good knowledgeable help and advice. _________________ iMac 24" 2.4 GHz 4GB | Logitech S530 | Z-2300 speakers | NewerTech Guardian MAXimus RAID

| Thank you for the posts. Informative and gives a brief comparison between the iPad and the MAC. Very helpful to give us basic ideas on their differences especially to me being a non-iPad and MAC user. |

| iPad is way different with mac, it is much more on a bigger version of iPod, there are limitations of what you can do with iPad that you can do with Mac or any other laptop. |
