Hi,
is it possible to buy a 2.0 quad core CPU and fit it into my 2011 2.7 mac mini?
I could try to install it myself. Is that possible?
OR
if anyone here wants to swap there 2011 macmini server
for my
2011 i7 2.7 macmini with 8gigs of ram and 750g HD i'd do it.
My spec MM with just 4gigs of ram costs £50.00 more than the server model at Apple.
I use mine for running Logic 9 and i want more power. _________________ 2011 mid 2.7 i7 mac mini 8gig ram 7200rpm HD |

The CPUs in the new minis are surface mounted.
If you have access to reflow equipment you could do it, but the quad might pull more power than the PSU can supply causing reliability issues
