I have an aging iMac G4 1.25 GHz running MacOS 10.4.11. I has a substantial iTunes library on it (though pre-iTunes 10). I also use a MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.6.
I want to move my iTunes library from the iMac to the MacBook Pro, and keep all my podcast subscriptions and music collect intact. Is there any procedure for doing this? If I copy things over through an external hard drive, which items should I transfer? Are there any technical issues to look out for?
Thanks in advance! |

I would transfer the music folder to an external drive, then tell iTunes in the MacBook Pro to add those files into it's library. Which should be through the File menu.
I don't know about the podcasts though. You might have to re-subscribe to them.
