|
|
Hello. Does anyone know if the 2011 Mac Mini have three antennas and support 450 Mbps wireless transfer rates? I've seen that new iMacs and Macbook Pros support 450 Mbps and have heard that new Macbook Airs do not.
I need to replace my router and I've already had compatibility and range issues with a new AES and my cable service. I found the Linksys EA4500 worked well and runs at 450 Mbps. Linksys also sells cheaper units that run at 300 Mbps and I was wondering if I was getting any benefit from the higher spec unit with my Mac Mini.
Thanks. |

the 2011 mini does not have 3 wireless antennas . It has spotty wireless performance. In my home I went with a wired setup.

My 2011 Mac mini has near flawless wireless stability, and transfer speeds connect at 450 consistently on my (latest gen) Time Capsule. _________________ | Mac mini 2011 | Apple Thunderbolt Display | Apple keyboard and Magic TrackPad | 2Tb Time Capsule | Apple TV (3) | iPhone 4s |

yes and the problem is from house to house and building to building
neighborhood to neighborhood.
I just left my Acupuncturist office has a 2011 mac mini with a new time machine endless drop outs and his time machine is less then 5 feet from his mac mini. He has an iMac that is in another room and it works fine with the time machine. Just depends on your local conditions. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

Did I say otherwise? This is true of any wireless device, performance varies by conditions, just stating my experiences. _________________ | Mac mini 2011 | Apple Thunderbolt Display | Apple keyboard and Magic TrackPad | 2Tb Time Capsule | Apple TV (3) | iPhone 4s |

No you did not say otherwise.
Typing on the net people myself included don't always understand what the other guy says. Longer explanations are needed to be perfectly clear about what one means.
No offense meant or taken.
Back to the op yeah the 450 may work great or not just depends.
My case no
my acupuncturist yes for his imac no for his mini
MacWaffler yes
My neighbor across the street has the airport extreme it is 180 feet from my mac mini I can sign on to his machine and not drop out. If I put the same machine in my house in most rooms I can't sign on to it. His bedroom window lines up with my computer room and the mini signs on. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram
