Apple has released the Safari 5.1.7 Update for Mac OS X Lion and Snow Leopard via their Software Update Utility and website for direct download. According to the company, this update contains improvements to performance, stability, compatibility, and security, including changes that:
- Improve the browser's responsiveness when the system is low on memory.
- Fix an issue that could prevent webpages from responding after using a pinch to zoom gesture.
- Fix an issue that could affect websites using forms to authenticate users.
- Disable versions of Adobe Flash Player that do not include the latest security updates and provide the option to get the current version from Adobe's website.
The Safari 5.1.7 Update weighs in at approximately 50MB and requires either Mac OS X 10.6.8 or 10.7.3 or later.

Excellent! I have this happen to me all the time while using Safari on my MacBook Pro. I then have to force close Safari and start over. |

I've had the same thing happen and when going back and forward pages by swiping. The page then gets all blurry, distorted and crashes. So let's hope this helps out. |
