|
|
Hi. I'm looking for scanner recommendations that work well with the mini. I'd like something that scans 4x6 photo prints and puts them into iPhoto with as little work as possible. I realize that's a tall order, but that's what I'm going to be doing with the scanner so I'd like to get as close to that as possible. I have a lot of old photos that I'd like to make digital. I don't need to do any photo corrections.
Right now I have an HP Scanjet 3970 that works okay. However for each print I have to select the scan area I want, click send to iPhoto, and then drag the picture to an album. This will be tedious with hundreds of pictures. I'd love something that can be set to scan a 4x6 picture to a file in a folder or something.
Thanks _________________ Mac mini powered up on 2-11-2005 |

While there check out the Epson 4180. It's a great scanner and looks nice sitting next to the mini. I'm totally happy with mine!

If anyone has these, how quickly can you scan a 4x6 photo and get it into iPhoto? _________________ Mac mini powered up on 2-11-2005 |

It takes under a minute to scan a 4x6. Just scan a bunch of pictures into a pre-set folder and then drag entire folder into iPhoto. Scanning pictures is always a time consuming project so just take your time and enjoy reminiscing over your old pictures! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

We have the Epson Perfection 3200 photo and it is simply awesome! My wife does professional-quality picture touchups, works with negatives and slides, and various other work so we didn't skimp when we bought this scanner.
Of course, she was on the nasty when we first bought it, so I was just hoping there were drivers available when I bought her iMac. (and, of course, there ARE...we've had zero issues under OS X with this scanner) _________________ -=iMav=-

Larry, it seems like you don't like Microsoft Windows. _________________ Mac mini powered up on 2-11-2005 |

There might be some truth to your statement.
I LOVE PC's. GREAT bang-for-the-buck. And windows certainly provides me with a lot of work to do (I'm an IT security guy). If you are a smart user and enjoy the UI, then more power to you. But windows is definitely not my thing... _________________ -=iMav=-
