Will a SATA 3 SSD plug into my Mac Mini 2007?

Yah, put your HD in an external enclosure
hook it up and see if it is recognized.

Your HD being 9.5mm should not have
been damaged.

Its probably a bad adapter, it usually is
the culprit.

Its also possible you got a bad SSD, unlikely
but certainly possible. While its in an external
enclosure attach it to a different Mac or PC
and see if its recognized. If its not, its probably
a bad Drive.

Meanwhile, caddy is ordered from Amazon. I figure if a 12.7 will fit a 9.5mm will too. I discovered a cloned drive running along with the clone can do strange things. After changing the aliases in the dock, it seems to be working great. My old mini boots SNL, Suitcase, photoshop and MS Word in 20 seconds. I don,t even use sleep mode anymore.

Now that 2-1/2" Hard Drives are exceeding
750 GB's its important to remember that
the PATA standard only supports 750 GB
Hard Drives (or smaller). If your putting
an adapter in the Top spot replacing the
Optical Drive with a Hard Drive and your
mini is the older model with a PATA channel
for the Top Spot then your limited to 750GB
or smaller. You'll need a mini with the SATA
Internal Bus to use a larger HD than 750 GB's.
