Does anyone here know the CL rating for Apple Ram? I'm going to upgrade my ram next week & want to try to get as close as I can to Apple specs. I can't seem to find anywhere what the CL rating for Apple ram is. I have a Mac mini 2011 2.3 Ghz 2 GB ram.
Thanks........ |

cl9 if you must know.
there are at least 20 companies with good ram for 2011 mini's
in no special order
samsung, crucial/micron, mushkin, kingston, gskill, pny, hynix, geil, super talent, elpida
all have been good for me.
corsair is ? patriot ? ocz ? the ones I say are good I have used more then 5 sets no failures.
the ? around two or three sets and one failed with slow rma. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

Thanks philiparcario for your suggestions. Just two more Question: I saw some manufactures have a Cas Latency of 7 while others have a Cas Latency of 9, does that really matter? Is a Cas Latency 7 faster or produces more heat than a Cas Latency of 9?
thanks....... _________________ Mac mini Aluminium Unibody (2011) 2.3 GHz i5

7 is faster but it may be 1066 which is slower
9 is most likely for 1333 ram
so quick math 1066 divided by 7 is 152 1333 divided by 9 is 148
what does that mean?
basically 1066 ram with a latency of 7 is just about as fast as 1333 ram with a latency of 9. as for heat look to see if the ram is 1.3 1.5 or 1.65 volts 1.3 volts is coolest. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram
