|
|
For some reason I can't type the Apple logo with Option+Shift+K. I notice this after 10.7.3. Has anyone else notice this, or am I the only one. Is there a way to fix this? The option key works in other shortcuts. The keyboard I'm using is a New Apple Aluminum Numeric Keyboard, and I haven't had any problems with it at all. The keyboard works great. Anyone else experience this?

| It works now. I had a corrupt com.apple.HIToolbox.C44EA167-2ACE-5B44-828C-559D614C6135.plist file. That's what I get for messing around with the Input Sources in Language & Text....... |

If you don't mind asking, why were you doing that? |

I was trying to set the unicode to type the ⌘ key. Somehow something got changed and I couldn't type this . So I had to revert the file back to the original file. So now if I want to just type the ⌘ key I'll just copy & paste...... _________________ Mac mini Aluminium Unibody (2011) 2.3 GHz i5

| Okay, makes sense now. Did you just trash the .plist file and let it create a new one or replace from a backup. Just wondering if it should ever happen to me. |

What I did was create a new user account & got that plist from that account. The I replace the corrupt .plist file with the new one. It might be a good idea to make a backup just in case. _________________ Mac mini Aluminium Unibody (2011) 2.3 GHz i5

Open your Character Viewer and choose
Technical Symbols, then ⌘ ⌘ ⌘ ⌘ ⌘.
Their's 41 variations to choose from.
To quickly access your Character Viewer
put a Character Viewer Menulet in your
Menu Bar at the top of your desktop.
In your Menu Bar that runs along the top of your
Desktop go: ➜ System Preferences ➜
Personal ➜ Languages and text ➜ Input Sources
Then check the box for: Keyboard & Character Viewer.
This will put a Menulet in your Menu Bar that runs along
the top of your desktop. When you want to add a character
that isn't on your keyboard, click on the Character Viewer
Menulet in your Menu Bar and choose Show Character Viewer.
This opens the your Character Viewer. For the ⌘ symbol
choose Technical Symbols in the lefthand column. Choose
a symbol you like then double click it in the upper right
corner of the Character Viewer Window. It'll be added
to your text.
If you choose it as a Favorite it'll be faster to find in the future.
I have chosen several Favorites, various symbols and such. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

Thanks billb for the info, I just tried your suggestion and it worked. I put several of those characters in my favorites. Thanks again.... _________________ Mac mini Aluminium Unibody (2011) 2.3 GHz i5
