|
|
Hello again,
I am having a bit of trouble with my set-up at home, I have a Mini, running with Snow leopard which wirelessly is connected to my router (netgear). My Daughter now has a Win 7 laptop and wants to use internet.
Can anyone tell me the correct settings I need so they both can use same router, When i connect the mini then try and get access via the laptop, the windows laptop tells me that i am connected to my network (wirelessly) but I have no internet access?
Troubled......
Many thanks in advance of this.
Still a Macnewbie.. |

You need to confirm that both your mini and your daughter's laptop are connected to the router's wifi network - identified by its SSID = its WiFi address.
Find this address by browsing to http://192.168.0.1 (you'll need the router login+password - see below) and the SSID will be listed.
Default Username = admin
Password = password
( For older devices, password = 1234 )
Exactly what error messages are you getting?
Do you have an Ethernet cable, to temporarily try connecting the laptop to your router by wired Ethernet? _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray |

If the address moobile supplied doesn't work, have a look in System Preferences - Network to find your routers address
click on wifi in the side bar of the Network preference screen. You may have to click the advanced button to see the routers address. _________________ Phil
