Which brand SSD boot drive would you recommend? Can this Mini use Sata III or Sata II only? How much capacity is need for just the System (Snow leopard) and Apps? The rest of my stuff would be installed on a second 500gb internal (7200rpm). Tom

At this point I would say Intel as the most stable. Opening up a 2009 mini to swap a drive takes a few minutes longer than I like.

Whatever SSD you buy the firmware updates can be a problem. Almost all need to boot to DOS/Windows. Bootcamp should work but then you need more disk space for it.

If it is your system and apps only then a 40GB would work.

YEAH intel or samsung . the intels that came out in 2011 had a small issue bu i believe there is a firmware fix.

the samsungs have been rock solid. the 470's samsungs or the 830 samsungs are good.

samsung's smallest is 64gb but 128gb can be had at good prices see new egg.
You can make do with 64gb .
