Hi folks,
I recently bought the Server app from the Mac App Store. My intentions are to run a web/mail server from my Mac. I was in middle of building a ubuntu server to run but the good chaps at Apple PR Department lured me in with their well designed site. So basically, the server app is installed. It says my network is configured correctly but if I try to go to Profile Manager and switch the service on it says "Error Reading Settings". All I want it to do is act as mail server and for users of my youth group to be able to access content via the wiki/web services but none work. Accessing from iPod touch sometimes gets the OS X portal page. Other times its a 503 or 400 error in Safari.
Any ideas? |

| yea it sounds like a server ip address conflict error but i have no idea how to change the ip address in server so you might be up ship creek without a paddle because my version of server from the app store auto assigns ip address to prevent piracy. |

Well i would disagree with what you have said about the IP conflict since i have had this problem before it is to do with the config file if you take a look at the apple discussion bored you will find rest scrips what you can run in terminal what will simply reset the config file making it all normal again hopefully but if dose not work i would fresh reinstall lion but back it up first and on your fresh install of lion drag files that you had on your computer back on and then back up once more so if any thing goes wrong then you are able to resort it using standard methods.
I am not responsible for any loss of files and stuff like that but this did work for me and you can even check with apple on what to do threw technical support.
Thank you for reading |
