Hi all,

My latest gen mini (2011) is starting to lose internet connections. Its odd.

It does NOT lose connection to my wireless router, its just that downloads stall and if I use a browser (any) I get a cannot download page error. This happens more once the mini has been sitting running, doing nothing for a few hours. Once its started I get the problem about once as hour. The mini is also running a little slower than when it was new, but its not a big issue.

To resolve the issue I have to disconnect from the router and reconnect. That normally fixes it. About 1 in 5 times I have to restart the mini. My macbook pro and old macbook don't have the same issue. They are all on fully updated lion. These problems have only started since upgraded from snow leopard to lion. Could it be connected?

Any ideas?

Many thanks for your help!

Cheers,

GM

Ok, you are right that IS weird. I have just assumed that it was due to my wireless card/antenna in my mini having a bad connection/dieing.

Does anyone else have any experience of this kind of issue? I'm considering trying to completely reinstall os X and starting again. if that doesn't fix it the mini will need to go...boo Sad

Does it work in a new user account ?

Worth trying before reloading, it could be something in your profile thats messing it up. Although being an intermittent fault does suggest a hardware issue.

Are you connecting wirelessly to the internet via the router? Have you tried it on a wired connection and vice versa?

Thanks for the post Cypher - as helpful as ever!

I've not tried it with another user, I'll give it a shot later and let you know. I've been connecting wirelessly. Not sure I've even got any cat5 cable, but I'll try it also.

Cheers,

GM
