We've has a TB Display hooked up at work for a couple months now. I've never heard the fan. I didn't even know it had a fan. |

You can hear the fan running in a really quiet room. It also seems to push out a fair amount of heat from the bottom of the display. I noticed this while at a friends house. I mean, it's not loud but it is noticeable from time to time. The thing actually looks pretty big too. At least from the pictures I have seen.

I wouldn't care if my old 20" ACD had a fan as long as it prolonged its life. Plus, there's always iTunes and Spotify to drown the noise out. Just crank some Sabbath or Zep and all is well. |

I would gladly trade a little fan noise for the electrical type of whining and hissing coming out of my 24" Dell display. Sometimes I want to just grab the thing and throw it up against a wall. It's so annoying! |
