|
|
Hello all,
I've been trying to find an answer to this question and seems like the answer varies depending on tv model etc.
Basically I want to use a Mac Mini on a 1080p Sharp LCD. It will be used just to run a window display of MLS Listings for our real estate office. It's only going to run open office/power point slide show files. I would like to make use of full tv resolution if I can...
Which mac mini's can support 1080p? I don't really want to buy a new mac mini just to run power point. And i don't want to deal with PC. Even with PC's used just for window displays in other offices we have had virus issues just because it's on the network.
There is a 1.5 gig Mac on Craig's list for 90 bucks. I think it's the newest of the Power PC models. Late 2005 with ATI Radeon 9200? Will that work or I need to go newer? |

Sure it can, but as you mentioned, perfomance varies with the display. Some teevees are easier to deal with than others - or some are plug and play, and others require hours of messing around with SwitchResX.

You should be just fine. Keep in mind that you will need software for a G4 (non Intel).
In addition you will likely need a DVI to HDMI adapter.
I'd go for it, if it will only ever be used for that one dedicated task. |

Thanks, I appreciate the info!
Does open office have software that is still supported by the old processor? I didn't think that would be an issue. |

Either OpenOffice, or NeoOffice, or LibreOffice.
