I am on a local home network. I can connect to other computers
(ubuntu linux) from my mac, but I can not connect to my mac from
from the other computers.
I have a mac mini 2011 with Lion (OSX 10.6)
I think we can start simply if someone can point me to the correct instructions.
For my part, I have gone this route:
System-Preferences->Sharing->(checked)File Sharing, Shared my
public folder with myself as the user and selected Read & Write
What else do I need to do?
thanks

Sharing uses NFS so make sure that you are selecting that on LInux.
To use Microsoft file sharing make sure to go under Options and turn on SMB. |

linux box booted up. I will look at the ubuntu machine later and if I
have any questions about config on that end will post to ubuntu forum
and post solution back here for other.
