Curious that 10GB works and not 16GB.
Most of the time, hardware memory limits are a power of 2.
Did you check each of your 8GB stick individually ? May be one of them is faulty? |

| I've got a 2.66gHz Mid 2010 running Lion and I just installed a Crucial 8gig kit p/n CT2CP51264BC1067 which was sold as CT2KIT51264BC1067. It worked without a problem. It does have the 16 memory chips per SODIMM instead of the preferred 8. I pulled two Samsung SODIMM's which were also 16 chip versions. |

| So I just found this thread and also have a mac mini 2010 with 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo. I have 8gb in it now, 2X4GB, but want to more in. So I'm wondering what was the max people got to work with their minis? was it the 10gb, 12gb, or did anyone get 16? also im having trouble even finding any 8gb sticks for this model. |

I currently have 1 1333 Mhz Komputerbay 8GB and a 1066 Mhz Kingston 4Gb for a total of 12 Gb running for over 2 weeks. The faster stick is running at the slower speed and it works. I am trying to find 2 sticks from the same manufacture to run at 1066 MHz. I tried the Komputerbay 16GB (2x 8GB) at 1333 before I read this thread and they did not work as the machine just beeped. Got those from Amazon. I later tried 1 8Gb and 1 4Gb, 1333 Mhz Corsair Apple Memory and they would boot, but the Mini would lock up shortly after booting. I am about to order a Mushkin 1066 MHz 8 Gb and 4 Gb sticks from NewEgg to see if they will work. My hunch is they will. I am surprised that the Mushkin 16Gb set running 1066 MHz would not boot. I will be happy with 12 if that is all I can get. |

| I saw the muskin set on new egg and was thinking of trying it. If you have ordered please post on here and let me know if it works. My mac mini doesn't seem to like any of the higher 1333 mhz speed, any sticks I've tried even 4gb just make it beep. |

Right after my last post, I ordered the 1066 MHz 8Gb and 4Gb. The order went through on Newegg. I decided to order one more 8Gb to try for 16Gb running at 1066, but they were out of stock after my first order. The 16Gb set is out of stock too and both say Deactivated. Not sure if they will get more or not. Seems like 1333 is the popular choice these days and clearly, the mid 2010 mini does not like that fast. Surely someone else has the Mushkin 1066 memory still for sale. I will let you know if it works or not. |

Update: The Mushkin 1066 MHz sticks worked and I am running 12Gb. 1 8Gb stick and 1 4Gb stick. Interesting, the 8Gb stick registers a serial number, but the 4Gb does not. Regardless, it has been working now for 24 hours with no issue. I would expect other 1066 Mhz sticks to work too. Also, I did try replacing the 4Gb stick with another 8Gb stick (KomputerBay 1333 Mhz) and it would not boot. Just beeped. I think 12Gb is the max. |

| I ordered the mushkin 16 GB off newegg, they didnt have any single 8gb sticks. Just got them yesterday and put in both 8 gb sticks and all is working well. Started up fine and registers 16 Gb, so far so good Im happy. Its just really hard to find those mushkin sticks. |

IT WORKS.
1066MHz 8x2 sticks are the key.
Rock and Roll. |

I have a 2010 Mac mini and I was successful at adding 16Gs ram to it.
I'll add images tonight when I get home.
First post here too. |

Not that it matters here much but, I also tested it on my Mid 2010 Macbook as well and it worked. |
