Sweet! Those captures look crystal clear.
Edit: I like the one of Kiefer sitting in front of his iMac! |
The EyeTV 500 doesn't compress the stream ... whatever the broadcaster
streams at (usually MPEG-2) is what you get.

It looks like the Incredibles are big Mac users too.

They're surreptitiously plugging Apple in a Pixar film? I'm shocked.

I have an EyeTV 200. I like it, but I just ordered a EyeTV EZ USB 2.0 It'll be faster because it's USB 2.0 and because there won't be a delay when watching TV.
I wish I could get crystal clear images like that on my mac mini with EyeTV 200.
What are your display settings? I want to try and get it crystal clear. |

Hi Webby,
My EyeTV 500 is set up with its default settings .. it captures whatever the HDTV signal happens to be (480p, 720p, 1080i). Everything I've recorded has been streamed to me in MPEG-2.
I'm running the EyeTV 2.0.1 software ..

| Cool. Thanks for the info. I look forward to getting my EyeTV EZ USB 2.0 tomorrow. I tried playing around with the setting on my EyeTV 200 and it still won't give me a sharp enough picture. |

I'm definitely considering an EyeTV-200 (the EZ is not out of the question either). If/when I purchase, I'll write up a little review. _________________ -=iMav=-

I would get the EyeTV EZ USB 2.0 The EyeTV 200 has a delay when watching TV on the mac. The EZ has no delay. It's in sync with the TV. I just got it today and love it. The screencaptures are still not as sharp as I want it to be, but it's better quality than the EyeTV 200. |
