| Wanted to update by 1.6 Core Solo Mini that has been going strong for 5 years. Have a custom mount and setup for my workspace, so I went looking for a newer Mini that would run Lion but fit without needing a new mounting setup and cabling. Found a nice Late 2009 mini on eBay and got it a couple of weeks ago. Just finished upgrading to 8GB RAM ($50 Crucial kit from Newegg) and a 500GB Scorpio Black ($85 from Newegg). Machine feels super snappy now and much faster than with the 4GB and Scorpio Blue that were in it when I bought it. Although the mini was in great shape when I got it, I'm glad I opened it up as was in need of a good cleaning to remove the dust bunnies. |
