I just did a clean install of the newest version of Ubuntu (11.10 Onieric Ocelot) in my Acer Aspire One SSD (16G 1GB RAM) netbook and it runs very will so far with no issues.
This newest version is mainly tweaks with the Unity interface but it does run nicely.
right now I'm downloading the newest official variant, Lubuntu. I've never actually installed Lubuntu on a machine but it ran lightning fast in "live" mode on my 1st gen. Aspire One netbook that only has 512mb of RAM. |
