As the header says, anyone have issues installing 64 bit software on a core duo machine upgraded to C2D and currently running Lion?

System runs Lion fine but refuses to install Office 2011. I checked the disk and it installed fine on my mac book.

Is this an issue with all 64 bit or lion specific software or was it only Lion that had to be hacked to install?

The MB of my upgraded 2,1 mac mini got fried by lightning a few weeks ago. Bought a cheap 1,1 mac mini on ebay and 'transplanted' the still functioning HDD with Lion OS, Broadcom, 2GB memory and 2.33ghz C2D. After deleting the 'PlatformSupport.plist' file the 1,1 mini is working exactly the same as the 2,1 mini before.

Office 2011 has to be activated it can only be activated on one machine per copy.

unless you where lucky enough to get one with multiple keys.

Sorry it's why a lot of mac users use libre office
