Apple Releases Thunderbolt Software Update

Apple has released the Thunderbolt Software Update for Lion via their Software Update Utility and website for direct download. According to the company, this update provides support for the Apple Thunderbolt Display and bug fixes for Thunderbolt device compatibility. More information about the Thunderbolt Display itself can be found here. The Thunderbolt Software Update weighs in at 60.30MB and requires Mac OS X 10.7.1 or later.

[Update:] 09/20/2011 - Apple has released the Thunderbolt Software Update for Snow Leopard. According to the company, this update also provides support for the Apple Thunderbolt Display and bug fixes for Thunderbolt device compatibility.

Has anyone here seen the Thunderbolt Display in person yet? I'm thinking about buying one. I just bought a new Mac mini last week (my third Mac mini through the years) and would like a nice 24"-27" display for editing pictures. I realize that it has the glass screen with more glare, but I haven't been impressed with the matte IPS displays from Dell or HP. In fact, I just returned a 24" U2410 to Dell last week. It had this funky pink and green tinting and/or casting going across the screen, which apparently is a known issue.
