need a recentX type launcher apps for Mac.

I am new in Mac. In windows I use a software named RecentX . http://www.conceptworld.com/RecentX .It is actually a launcher which saves a lot of time and Avoids outdated ways of accessing folders, and some version control for doc mgmt. In Mac what can I use for this ?

Its one of the first apps I install on a new mac.
