Hi there,
We use our 2010 mini as our HTPC. Now running out of storage space on the mini's hard drive so wanted to get an external drive that can be used as the primary storage drive (i.e. move all media from the mini's hard drive onto an external drive).
Have been looking at this Buffalo 1Tb drive. Seems to be a decent enough spec - FW800, 7200RPM drive. What's the consensus on whether this is practical as an "always on" media drive?

I have also considered replacing the mini's internal drive with a bigger one, but not really confident enough to do that based on the "How to" videos I've seen. Plus, it's still under warranty.
I already have a separate USB back up drive (wirelessly backs-up via Airport Extreme), so that's not an issue.
Thanks for any advice on the Buffalo (or any other suitable FW800 drive). _________________ 2011 2.3GHz i5 13" MBP 4Gb RAM, 320Gb64Gb 64Gb iPod Touch 3rd gen
