Two days ago I attempted to use my Dropbox Cache Cleaner (desktop version) to clean out about a Gigabyte's worth of cache files. DBCC's app window popped up on the desktop as usual but the cache amount read zero.
????
When I attempted to clear the cache I got an error message that read as follows:
(OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/Users/John/.dropbox/cache')
I went to the Dropbox site to see how to access cache files
http://www.dropbox.com/help/11
I'm reading that in order to get to the folder to enter this into Finder's "Go to folder" field:
~/Dropbox/.dropbox.cache
Sure enough, there are the files.
It appears that the path and destination for the cache files has changed therefore Dropbox Cache Cleaner .app no longer works because it's trying to clear a folder that no longer exists.
Is this what's happening?

The developer of DBCC says his app is no longer needed.

The new updated version of Dropbox auto-clears out cache files after 3 days. All I have to do to keep time machine from copying any cache files is to go to Time Machine's "options" and instruct it not to back up Dropbox.
Cool. |
