H-Squared Intros Mini Rack Mounting System for Mac Mini

H-Squared today announced the availability of their Mini rack mounting system featuring iLumi technology for the 2010 Mac mini. According to the company, the Mini rack is the ideal solution for businesses who are utilizing the Mac mini as a server, but are in need of precious rack space. In fact, it allows you to vertically mount up to eighteen Mac minis in just under 5U of rack space.

The iLumi status panel features a series of full-color LEDs that are driven by a small program running on each Mac mini. When a potentially problematic condition develops on the Mac mini, such as high disk usage or higher-than-normal internal temperatures, the iLumi panel will alert IT admins through both light intensity and color. The color, intensity, and even what is monitored is completely configurable by the user.

The Mini rack from H-Squared is available for $499.95. Included in each package is one Mini rack rail, six Mini mounts, one iLumi panel, six right angle USB cables, and mounting hardware.

It's nice to see the mini being taken seriously.

This is great.

+1

It is great seeing products like this for the Mac mini server. I am also excited about the possibilities of the next Mac mini server getting a quad-core processor and ThunderBolt for Xsan and Xgrid. Throw that on top of Lion Server and things could be very exciting. I just see big things ahead for this little server if Apple plays it right. Like hold it back like they have done with the regular/consumer Mac mini.
