For no reason that I can figure, my printer driver is acting up. I have deleted the driver and re-installed it. I have gone through the " Printer Fax " que and -ed it and +ed it all in an effort to get my software to recognize that I have a printer on board. Every time I go through this " delete and re-install " procedure I get a message "The printer software was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the printer’s software or contact the manufacturer for assistance."
Getting further " assistance " issn't forthcoming. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to solve it?

Hi Blue,

what version of 10.6 ?

My OCE printer stopped working after upgrading from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7.

Had to wipe the disk and reload 10.6.6 in the end

My version is 10.6.7 but there is nothing short of a total melt down that is going to get me to format my entire disk to get this POS printer working again. I don't have external storage to move everything to so a complete wipe can be accomplished using this method.
I was hoping someone had the same experience and had a work around that solved the problem. Perhaps there is no easy way.
Thanks for trying.

Apple posted this font and printer patch for 10.6.7

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4605

Have not been brave enough to reload 10.6.7 to try if it works.

You could try it if you cannot find you printer on philiparcario' s printer link.

Let us know how you get on.

Printer problems aside, try to get reliable external backup or not being able to print will be the least of your problems.

Samsung Printer ML2510 . It's a laser printer, monochrome(BLACK)only.
It has worked like a charm for quite some time and only recently started giving me fits.
I have downloaded the files you indicated so will play with it some more'
Later, thanks.
B.

Did not see ML2510 version on the list and Samsung have not revised their drivers since 10.6.7 landed.

Doubt whether OS Lion is going to address this problem straight away, so your best bet is to send an email to Samsung and see if you get a reply.

Another option is to get a second hand mac mini with 10.6.6 loaded.
