I have been happily using my Mac Mini, Plex, Handbrake for some time now.

And if I remember right, get Dolby TrueHD & DTS-HD Master Audio to work in Plex or in the Container file, or something like that.

It this still ture?

I have a Denon Receiver that does support TrueHD & DTS-HD Master Audio

Plus, the optical out port can't handle HD audio streams, or so I've been told. So you have to use an HDMI equipped mini, or perhaps some sort of USB DAC to an DVI/DP/mDP to HDMI combiner thingy.
