this was the canon model

the samsung took about 2000 photos. the canon about 900. I am not hard on gear but they have not seemed to last very long.

Anyone have one that has taken 2000 to 4000 photos and it still works well. TIA phil

That's horrible bad luck. I've had a Canon Powershot for years and it's still going strong.

I now shoot with a Nikon D50. I've taken 2000-4000 shots in a weekend. I can get 800 shots with one rechargeable battery pack. I'll take a few hundred shots within 15 minutes at bodybuilding competitions.

Sorry I can't recommend any fixed lens cameras. Things change way to quick in this category and I haven't kept up. I'm more of a fan of a camera phone and an SLR for serious shooting.
