Hello,
I currently have Windows XP SP3 installed for my Bootcamp. I am wondering if my mac mini can use a 64 bit version of Windows 7. I have upgraded it to 8 GB of ram and a 500 gb HD. It is a Mac Mini 3.1 fully up-to-date. I have been a Mac users for the past three years but I want to be familiar with the current Windows offerings since I am being recruited for my university's tech support. The tech team has agreed to purchase me a 64 bit Windows 7 copy if I join the team. I want to be sure I can use it before they do so.
I noticed in this article : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1846?viewlocale=en_US
My mac-mini version is not listed, but other computers with the same chipset are? I have read on other places on the net that people are using their older mini with 64 bit Windows 7. Any help is appreciated! |

If it can support 8GB RAM it would have to be capable of 64-bit Win 7, the only problem would be graphics if you need them for much or if Apple just never made official drivers for the specific chipsets. Post the model data and you will be able to get confirmed responses. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

It is a Mac Mini 3,1
For graphics it has the Nvidia GeForce 9400 chipset.
Do you need more information?
I notice I have been reading that I may have to run some commands to get my OS X to run in 64 bit mode, and I have not had much success with getting that to work. |
