Hi Folks,

I'm having a problem connection a Macmini to a 42'' Philips full HD TV. I think it might have narrowed the problem down to the screen resolution. What is the best screen resolution to pick on the MAc that will work best with a 42" Screen? Thanks kindly, I hope this thread is not doubling up on my previous one, if so mods feel free to move it or delete it.

Thank you for your help.

You need to use the "native resolution" of your TV. If it's truly a full-HD TV, that will be 1920x1080. Look in the TV's technical specifications.

You'll also need to check that the TV has some sort of setting such as "1:1 pixel mapping" or "overscan off" or "exact fit" or something similar.

Then your mini needs to put out a "1080" setting with "Overscan off".

very helpful, thank you kind sir.

I think 'Autofit' setting on my tv is "exact fit" so thats great.

I just need to tweak the settings on the Macmini. thanks again.
