Hi all,
ON the 2nd gen ATV should I expect to see it on itunes on my mini as a device? I do see my 1st gen ATV, but not the new one? Any ideas?
The new 2nd gen ATV worked fine (not showing up as a device in itunes) but this morning would no longer connect to my computer to access my itunes library. What do you think I can do to reconnect it?
Thanks,

No, it only shows up in the iTunes source list. Try resetting your Apple TV and restart your router. I've had to do it like a million times.

Thanks, although your response is a little depressing!
Seems that the ATV2 is a real step backwards for Apple - a depressingly common occurrence nowadays for them.
Do you know if it is still possible to purchase the ATV1? Its clearly a much better device.

I sort of feel the same way in some regards. What are some of the other things upsetting you?

I don't miss the first-generation Apple TV all that much. It had just as connection issues. Plus, I had two that went and died on me. More than likely because of the amount of heat they produced. I think they Apple TV 2 was definitely a step in the right direction. If for no other reasons than AirPlay and Netflix. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I love the HD on the first one. You can take the ATV with you. Now its had its software fixed its much more stable than the ATV2 - for me at least.
Most of all, I think the UI is much better than the new one.
