Stereoscopic Camera System with Mac Minis
Thursday January 19, 2006
21st Century 3D has unveiled the 3DVX3, the latest in their line of digital stereoscopic motion picture camera systems. You may be asking yourself, "What does this have to do with the Mac mini?" Well, this camera has two modified Mac minis built-in for recording. "The built in recorder of the 3DVX3 is comprised of two extensively modified Apple Mac Mini computers. The compact size and CPU horsepower offered by the Mac Mini coupled with the power of Mac OS X make the 3DVX3 a truly unique camcorder. Flash memory modules replace hard drives in the Mac Minis for fast booting and reduced operating temperature." We would love to see some of the video captured with this bad boy!

I have no idea how a stereoscopic camera system works, but the Mac mini part sounds cool. I wonder how large these flash modules are? |

Pretty simple concept. It takes two pictures, side by side. When combined together you get a 3D image. You must have looked through those little Viewmaster Click plastic cameras when you were a kid (maybe you're not old enough). Same concept. |
