Apple Releases Java Updates for Snow Leopard and Leopard

Apple has released Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 4 and Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 9 via their Software Update utility and website for direct download. According to the company, Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 4 delivers improved compatibility, security, and reliability by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_24. It weighs in at 74.81 MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.4 or later. Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 9 delivers improved compatibility, security, and reliability by updating J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_28, and updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_24 for 64-bit capable Intel-based Macs. This update weighs in at 119.83 MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5.8.

I thought apple stopped support for java 1.5 all the older PowerPc titles have upgraded to 1.6 java so even frostwire and even other free based software titles wont run on mac java 1.5 anymore.
