Apple today announced that iPad 2 will be available tomorrow at 5 p.m. local time at all 236 Apple retail stores in the US and through the online Apple Store beginning at 1 a.m. PT. According to the company, every customer who buys an iPad 2 at an Apple retail store will be offered free Personal Setup service, helping them customize their iPad 2 by setting up email, loading new apps from the App Store and more, so they'll be up and running with their new iPad 2 before they leave the store. iPad 2 will also be available beginning at 5 p.m. local time at AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon Wireless, Walmart and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
Apple also announced that its iMovie and GarageBand apps for the iPad will be available starting today in the App Store for $4.99.

A big thumb's up for the Garageband app! I'm not even a musician and it's still fun messing around with. It's probably the best looking and functioning app I've ever seen for the iPad. And there are some pretty good ones out there. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

| I can't wait to get one tomorrow! I learned my lesson with the 1st generation iPod touch. That is...wait for the second generation. That's because Apple holds back on the hardware features and turns around and screws you on software compatibility down the road. |

When they say "you'll be up an running before you leave the store". I wonder how the battery charging works. Normally when you purchase an iPod etc. you need to fully charge the battery for a number of hours before you use the product.
Are the iPads fully charged before an Apple reseller gets the product? Or do the Apple store have a few thousand units charging at one time
Just curious. |

Every iPad, iPod or iPhone that I've ever received came with like a 75% or more charge. I'm sure they all leave the factory that way for testing. _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

I saw one today and it feels much faster than the original. My concern about this generation is the glass. Something doesn't feel as solid there. I read that the glass is thinner, but I'm not sure that's all it. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

+1. One if not the best apps for the iPad ever. |
