Need HELP with Display Rez......

Ok, here's the deal................
I currently use a 28" Display that is
1080p. I don't use it at 1080p but set
for 1344x840, 60 Hz NTSC, which is
a tiny bit more resolution than 720p.

So, my question is, if I buy a 42" (or whatever)
Plasma TV that is 720p, my desktop will look pretty
much the way I have it now only MUCH BIGER.

I know the answer but I'd like some input from y'all.

What do you use? What did you use?
