I hate to admit it, but I am an achievement junkie! At first when I got my 360 (Dec 2007), I didn't even know what achievements were. But slowly over time I began to take notice and realized what they were (ePEEN measuring contests). I know it seems ridiculous but it's actually made gaming more fun for me. I will replay titles or play games in a completely different way than before.
Current GS: 21260
What do you think about the Achievement/Trophy for the current generations of consoles? And post your Gamerscore if you don't mind! _________________ 13" 2.26 Macbook Pro

I don;t play any current consoles except for Wii, but I play Steam games a lot (even more since they put some of their major ones on Mac). The achievements in Counter-Strike:Source seem to get ridiculous and even worse is that the achievements were added to the game years after it's initial release so many people would have already earned the achievements don;t have them. Now a game like WoW has a few that are incredibly time consuming and rely on chance, plus they have one that is literally only possible once per server. Achievements are nice, but when they get to the extreme of nearly impossible they get annoying. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I agree. Some are easy and some a real pain. I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer, just an enthusiast! I've never gotten 100% or 1000/1000 for any game. But I do try to get the easy-to-medium ones. _________________ 13" 2.26 Macbook Pro

I'm not a big achievement whore, so I take them as they come. Very rarely will I go out of my way to try to get one. I'm not sure what my score is, but it's a bit over 11,000.
I think some of the achievements in some games are just there to pad the 1000 points that MS wants to see per game. Some games have insanely hard achievements that are only a few points. In particular - DoA 4. Itagaki doesn't mess around!
I also have yet to get 100% of the achievements, and I think there are only a handful of games that I can do that with. Civ Revolutions is one that I think I can get the full score on.

So I went on a GS blitz last night and rented AVATAR: TLA, Backyard Football 2010, and LOST: Via Domus.
6 hrs later, I had added 3000 GS. _________________ 13" 2.26 Macbook Pro
