Hi,
I noticed in my root directory 6 TextEdit files.
Their names consist in a 10 digit number followed by a .001 suffix. I have heard of .001 suffixes before but I cannot recall what it was. Get Info says that I have no access. Can anyone please tell me if I can trash them?

Probably the result of some file recovery process (which may have been an automatic background process and not something you invoked). Can they be opened with Textedit? (Open text encoding type "automatic"?) You might be able to deduce their origin.
If they've been around for a while (through a few restarts) and everything seems to be working OK, I would probaly delete them. _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray

rar files when split in to multiple files also tend to add .001 . 002 etc to each of the additional files. _________________ Phil
